Job Summary:
DP proprietary design includes water cooled vibrating grate boiler for biomass combustion and its fuel transportation system conveying fuel from yard to feed them into boiler etc. The Lead Boiler Engineer will lead, plan and supervise overall boiler engineering work from concept to product design, with support of a global team of engineers and designers. This will include technical support for the sales effort, as well as execution of contracted projects. Additionally, lead ongoing engineering effort for boiler products development, common knowledge sharing etc.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Execute international projects as part of the international project engineering team, under the technical leadership of the Lead Project Engineer and be responsible for boiler engineering and design.
2. Together with your engineering colleagues, convert contractual design standards and quality requirements into design documentation for boiler production or subcontracting, according to ASME and EN 12952.
3. Oversee and guide production of detailed boiler drawings (incl. compensators interface between boiler/grate, support etc.) produced from team of designers.
4. In conjunction with 3D modeling of boiler, ensure that appropriate details embedded for effective 2D drawings generation point of view.
5. Undertake, verification or validation of strength calculation of boiler pressure parts according to ASME and EN 12952, including submission from vendors.
6. Make general strength calculation of overall boiler structure (incl. buckstay, hoppers, loads etc.) for typical and new prototype boiler, or coordinate with and verify submission from external specialist.
7. Undertake weight and load calculation of overall boiler, both typical and new prototype structured, or coordinate with and verify submission from external specialist.
8. Support international sales and tendering efforts (sometimes at short notice), to provide engineering consultation services and/or deliver technical proposal documentation (e.g., datasheet, calculations and drawings, technical specifications etc.), attend sales meeting with client and external project stakeholders.
9. Develop balanced solutions to address specific boiler specifications and requirements.
10. Document and share experience and knowhow for continuous product improvement/upgrading.
11. Participate in standardization of working methods.
Required Qualification and Skills:
• 8+ years of technical experiences regarding above responsibilities/ tasks (ideally boilers for thermal power plants, combined cycle power plants or bio-power power plant).
• Experienced in strength calculation of overall boiler structure and boiler pressure parts.
• Knowledge of ASME and EN 12952 design standards.
• Knowledge of ASME, EN standard materials.
• Knowledge of boiler design done in 3D model and 2D output via AVEVA E3D.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
